16 EXTRA PAGES!
Hi, all! We're down to the last four days of the campaign and I'm happy to announce that I'm going to be upgrading Abominable Book 3 with an additional 16 Pages of content!
144 Pages instead of 128.
What is this content, you ask? Well, I've collected all of the Animal Classified Ads from the online comic–over a dozen extra strips I did featuring humourous personal ads from animals seeking relationships–and I'm adding them to the back of the book as an extra feature. These strips have never been published in print and I didn't know if I'd ever have a home for them, but I wanted to include something special for this Kickstarter edition of the book and this seemed like a good fit. :)

Hardcover and Softcover
BOTH versions of Abominable Book 3 will be upgraded with this extra content, so you'll get all the extra stuff regardless of which edition you pledged for.
If you'd like to UPGRADE your softcover edition to the Deluxe Hardcover Edition, there's still time!
Here's how to do it:
Log into your Kickstarter Account and go to the Abominable Book 3 Campaign
Click the green 'Manage Your Pledge' button (upper right of the screen on desktops)
Click 'Change Your Pledge'
Select the Pledge Tier you'd like (probably the same one you already have chosen, but you can change it to whichever you want) and confirm it by clicking the green Pledge $$ button
You'll be taken to a 'Configure Reward' screen where you can choose from a list of Add-Ons. Choose the Abominable Book Three HARDCOVER UPGRADE and click 'ADD'.
Click Continue at the bottom of the screen to confirm your changes
That should be it! When it comes time for me to ship your package, your Book 3 softcover will be replaced with a deluxe, velvety hardcover!

And after a lot of emails, phone calls, long stressful talks and calculator-pressing, we finally made it happen...
The Abominable Charles Christopher Book 3 DELUXE HARDCOVER!
Wrapped in a faux-suede fabric with foil-stamped cover line art, this is the book you've been asking for. Designed to match the previous hardcover volumes in every way so the set looks perfectly fuzzy on your shelf. :)
This is the book I've always wanted to make - tactile and textural, to evoke the fur and feathers and tree bark in the comic itself. It's not cost-effective for most publishers to produce a book like this, which is why Kickstarter is the perfect place to launch it; made by and for the readers who love it.
How Do I Get It?
Adding this Hardcover option to the campaign presents some challenges (mostly to me, during the fulfilment/shipping stage) but I've tried to keep it as simple as possible.
If you've already backed the campaign at a physical reward tier (you're getting at least one physical copy of the book) you don't need to change your pledge! You can just go to the Pledge Management area and ADD-ON the Book 3 Hardcover UPGRADE. You'll be charged the $30 difference between the softcover and hardcover (plus a small shipping adjustment to account for the extra weight), and your Softcover edition of BOOK 3 will be REPLACED with the new Hardcover when it comes time for me to fulfil the orders.
If you pledged at the SKETCH EDITION Tier, your limited edition pledge remains intact and you can use the same process (Hardcover UPGRADE) to REPLACE your Softcover Book 3 Sketch Edition with a Hardcover Sketch Edition. Your sketch goes in the new hardcover instead. Pretty straightforward. :)
If you'd like the new Hardcover but also want to have the 3-Volume set of softcovers (and who wouldn't), you can still ADD-ON a Book 3 Hardcover for $60 to your pledge order. As many as you like!
All three Hardcovers together. VOLUME 1 is currently SOLD OUT, but I plan to reprint it soon!
10 Days To Go...
It's been a wild few weeks and this campaign has exceeded all of my expectations. You've all shown up to support this comic in such a big way and I wanted to make this hardcover edition available so that everyone - long-time fans and new readers alike - can get the new book in exactly the format they want.
It's not over yet, though! I'll be back in this home stretch to unveil more original art, more guest art, and some other goodies I've been keeping to myself. :)

To celebrate crossing the $75k mark in the campaign, I'd like to show you the newest piece of Abominable guest art by the incredible...
Mr. Jake Parker!
Jake's piece features Charles Christopher and his arctic fox pal, Townsen, strolling through the Cedar Forest.
Jake Parker is a New York Times Best Selling illustrator raised on cultural diet of comic books, cartoons, and LEGO. He's illustrated several books and comics for the publishing world and started the popular online art challenge Inktober. You can find LOTS more of his work on his website.
This print will be added to ALL of the existing print tiers (both physical and digital) which brings us to a whopping SIX Guest Prints! I've been so lucky to have these friends and peers take time out of their schedules to produce art for this campaign and I'm excited to hold them in my hands on actual art paper.

Thanks so much to all of you for making this campaign such a success! I'm working on some fun stuff behind the scenes here but I wanted to update you with some BOOK NEWS:
BOOK UPGRADE!
In addition to the French Flaps I mentioned earlier, I'm also upgrading the book cover with a SPOT GLOSS (basically a glossy laminate overtop of the characters) so they'll shine a little bit when the light hits them. It'll be really nice and will also match the previous books.

NEW GUEST PRINT!
I'm also unveiling another print by Guest Artist Andy Belanger! Andy has been a friend of mine for years and we share a studio together, but the coolest part of this print is that it features Andy Bee, the bee character that's based on (and named after) Andy himself!

This card game! It's called Winterhaven Woods and it's really beautiful. I just backed it to get a copy for myself. It's a strategic card game featuring woodland animals and the art style is beautiful. If you like The Abominable Charles Christopher, I think you'll like this. I'm excited to play it.
